Nanyang Business School Welcome Day 2015

RECORD BREAKING

2015

In view of SG50 this year, NBS Welcome Day 2015 will be presenting the largest logo of SG50 made up of red beans and white rice which would be displayed in plastic bottles that we collected!

The white rice symbolizes the toil and fruits of our forefathers’ labor in helping to build the nation as each grain is reaped with hard work and grit.

The red beans symbolizes the potential of Singapore to continue growing and sprouting in the years to come as we seek to continue thriving and prospering.

Upon the attainment of the record that will be registered in the Singapore Book Of Records, the red beans and white rice will go to a beneficiary of the Guest Of Honor’s choice. This is in line with the value of giving back to society that NBS aims to inculcate into its students.

2014

Last year the NBS welcome committee embarked on a record breaking challenge by having the biggest NBS logo arranged using recycled bottles filled with 500kilograms of rice.

The project, named R.I.C.E was powered by Crowne Plaza who has sponsored NBS welcome day with 1500 recycled bottles and 500 kilograms and the rice were then donated to charity.
