Dominique TAN

Dominique Tan is currently the owner of the Nebis Group of companies, which specializes in harnessing technology in providing compliance solutions to corporates.

Dominique graduated from NTU in 2003 with honors in Bachelor in Accounting.

Dominique commenced his career in PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Singapore in 2003, specializing in audit and assurance. During his time with PwC, Dominique had a stint in Transactions Services focusing on mergers and acquisitions. He also spent two years in PwC Norway from 2008 to 2009, where he serviced Shipping and Oil and Gas related clients in areas of financial due diligence and audit and assurance engagements.

In 2010, Dominique started Nebis Services, focusing on providing compliance services to Small and Medium Enterprises ("SMEs") before merging with Mazars LLP in 2013, where he was a partner till his departure on 1 Jan 2019.

At Mazars, Dominique took on the role of Head of Business and Risk Consulting Department in addition to his role as an audit partner. He was also the partner in charge of Human Resource for the audit division from 2015 to 2017.

His clients included SMEs, MNCs, and listed companies operating in various industries such as transport and logistics, technology and manufacturing, etc. Dominique has experience in forensic accounting, recently helping a Singapore listed company uncover and investigate financial and accounting irregularities.

Dominique is a certified director by INSEAD, a practicing member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants ("ISCA"), and an ASEAN CPA. Besides, Dominique also holds the accreditation of certified Financial Forensic Professional issued by ISCA. He is also a member of the Singapore Institute of Directors ("SID").

Dominique was the Singapore representative of the International Integrated Reporting Council ("IIRC") from 2016 to 2018. He sat in the Young Professionals Advisory Committee of ISCA from 2014 to 2016, and he also sat in the Sustainability Committee of SID in 2017-2018.

Research Interests
  • Dominique's research interest are in corporate governance issues, and how technology ( in the form of robotics and artificial intelligence) can be leveraged to enhance the board's effectiveness and improve corporate efficiency.
