Trimester 1 (2010/2011)

I am a full-time MBA student from York University Schulich School of Business in Toronto, Canada. Earlier in the year, I was offered the opportunity to come to Singapore to study abroad for one trimester at the Nanyang School of Business, and I must say coming to NTU was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

My experiences in Nanyang had been nothing but rewarding. Firstly, the school is beautiful. The campus is just like a massive beautifully landscaped park. I could smell the fresh scent of nature every time I came on campus. Secondly, the faculty is first class. I took only electives at Nanyang and all my professors have extensive work experiences, from CEO and Chairman of large corporations to senior bankers of prestigious global banks. They might have impressive titles, but they are anything but arrogant. They are willing to teach as long as you are willing to ask. They shared current industry practices and offered career advices. The knowledge, advice and insights I gained from these business veterans were invaluable. Thirdly, Nanyang is all about diversity. The people I met there came from all over the world, from Germany, Switzerland, Italy, New Zealand, United States and Canada to Japan, Korea, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, India and of course, local Singaporeans! I’ve made friendships here that I know will last for a life time. And fourthly, Singapore is an awesome and vibrant city to live it. It has both the nature and greeneries of living in the suburbs and the convenience of a metropolitan city.

I would recommend anyone who has the opportunity to come to Nanyang to not miss it. It is definitely a one in a life time experience, an experience I would treasure and keep in my memory forever.
