Studying abroad at NTU provided an incredible opportunity to grow both personally and academically. In the classroom, we studied and critiqued American business practices from the outside-in, and I had the privilege to learn new global impact perspectives from the most diverse classroom of students I have ever sat in. Outside the classroom, Singapore's access to broader SE Asia is unparalleled, and I was able to travel to many nearby countries in my time off. The chance to learn and compare the history, culture, and development of 7 different countries in a two-month window was a once in a lifetime experience. From writing my capstone paper on the economics of Hawker Culture in Singapore, to studying elephant conservation techniques and business models in Thailand, to chatting with locals in Laos about Chinese foreign investment in railway and agriculture, I found myself learning to be a better global business leader every day.
