I had an amazing time doing an MBA exchange at the Nanyang Business School in Singapore. I chose Nanyang because it is in Asia and Singapore seemed like the best and most practical choice for an English speaker.

Only a few days after arriving in Singapore I had already made friends with several other MBA exchange students as well as full-time students. The MBA courses were similar in quality to the courses I attended back home but had a fresh “Asian” perspective. I learned a great deal about the politics, economics, business, and even culture in Asia from attending the classes.

Singapore itself is a very liveable city that is easy to fall in love with. It has an extremely efficient transportation system that gets you everywhere you want to go in the city. The people are friendly and most speak good English. There is almost always something new and exciting to do every day of the week. Its central location and the budget airlines provided me the opportunity to travel extensively visiting over 12 countries during and after the exchange on a reasonable budget.

The only downside to Singapore is that it is expensive to live in. You really need to spend quite a bit of money to do anything in the city. The University was not able to provide on-campus housing for MBA exchange students which left me with a bigger than usual housing bill to pay for off-campus accommodation. However, I ended up preferring the off-campus housing as the place was really nice and closer to the city. All-in-all, I had one of the best times of my life during this exchange and I would highly recommend The Nanyang MBA!
