"Do you really want to be in investments?" by Mr Vincent Kok (ACC 1991)

Vincent is currently the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Delphi Capital Management (New York, U.S.A.). He is an "investing" CIO as opposed to a client-facing one. Before moving to New York, he was the Head of International Bonds of State Street Global Advisors in London. With his leadership, his team managed the US$1 billion Pan Asia Bond Fund, which was started by 11 of Asia's Central Banks after the Asian Financial Crisis. Vincent was responsible for more than 30 investment professionals located in seven investment centres around the globe, and had also helped quadruple the market value of assets on behalf of his investors to US$100 billion.

Having benefited from the guidance of his mentor, Vincent enjoys teaching and mentoring the young. He has lectured on capital markets and derivatives to professional traders at the Institute of Banking and Finance. He had also taught the undergraduate in Monash University and the Masters in Financial Management degree offered by the University of London.

Vincent has given talks previously on the U.S. economy and the macro-economic effects of the U.S. monetary cycle on the rest of the world. With his extensive experience, he will discuss the "myths" of pursuing a career in investments with students from Renaissance Engineering Programme. You may bring along an article on investing, capital markets or economics to discuss with Vincent. Breakfast is served 9am onwards.
